If you don't get insurance through your job, and you aren't eligible for Medicare (over age 65), you and your family may be eligible for Marketplace (also called Individual and Family), Medicaid, or CHIP health insurance. Here's how it works.

INCOME GUIDELINES

If you don't have another type of health insurance, what you qualify for usually depends on your income and family size. Here's a chart to help you see what you might be eligible for.

Important note: There are some exceptions to these income guidelines based on program type. Even if you don't qualify for Medicaid or CHIP based on income alone, you should still apply. You may qualify for your state's program, especially if you have children, are pregnant, or have a disability. You can apply for Medicaid and CHIP any time of year.
